Working together to win the future
On July 15, 2020, the sky was clear and the summer breeze was smooth at No. 125, No. 25 Road, Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. In the morning of that day, the opening ceremony of RBDM Automotive Manufacturing Supply Chain Industrial Park (Phase I) and BMW China SKD Gathering Center Project was held here.
Dr. Franz Decker, Senior Vice President of Technology and Production of BMW Brilliance, Matthias Ostermeier, Head of BMW China SKD Consolidation Center, Zhao Yanqing, Vice Chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, Hou Wei, Chairman of Shenyang Federation of Industry and Commerce, Guo Zhongxiao, Mayor of Tiexi District People's Government, Director of the Management Committee of Economic Development Zone and Director of the Management Committee of Sino-German Park, Chairman
of Runbang Damei Logistics Co. Ltd. Jiang Yuchen, the heads of relevant departments of the Economic Development Zone and Sino-German Park Management Committee, as well as many famous entrepreneurs and friends from all walks of life attended the
ceremony. Due to the epidemic, Ralf Schieder, Vice President of Global Supply Chain of BMW Group and Guenter Gleichauf,
Vice President of BMW (China) Service Co., Ltd. in Germany were unable to attend the event in person, but sent congratulatory
videos from Germany and Beijing respectively.
Mr. Matthias Ostermeier, as the head of the consolidation center, firstly thanked all the leaders and guests present and
warmly congratulated the opening of BMW's new consolidation center. He believed that this new member of BMW's supply chain family could quickly grow into an important member of BMW's logistics family. He exclaimed that from the beginning of the project construction at the groundbreaking ceremony on April 10, 2019 to the delivery 14 months later, the time was tight and even though the construction was stopped in the spring due to the epidemic, the team of RBDM worked hard to catch up with the progress and finally delivered such a great factory, he was deeply moved and expressed his gratitude to RBDM Logistics Co. Ltd.
Dr. Franz Decker said in his opening speech that with the future cooperation between BMW Brilliance and the Center, in the nearfuture, the long wheelbase body products can be successfully produced in the Southeast Asia final assembly plant, and they
will deliver the bodies produced in Tiexi plant to the Center, and after packing them together with all the domestic parts, the Center team will export them to Malaysia and other Southeast Asian markets. He also praised RBDM as an efficient team, and the building in place on time today is amazing!
In his opening speech, Mr. Jiang Yuchen, Chairman of RBDM, told that this project is the first time in Northeast China to adopt heavy-duty composite roof panels, which are processed at the factory and installed on site. Under the circumstances of increased construction difficulties and the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the smooth completion and delivery of the project on schedule with high quality and high standard proves that the Economic Development Zone and Sino-German Park have a good business environment and efficient government services, and also proves the wisdom and ability of allparticipants in the project.
Chairman Jiang Yuchen expressed his gratitude to the leaders at all levels of the provincial and urban areas and the relevant functional departments for the strong support and care given to the enterprise in terms of project approval and park support; expressed his appreciation to BMW Overseas Supply Chain Group and BMW China Services Ltd. for their trust, guidance and assistance in the cooperation with RBDM; expressed his gratitude to the entrepreneurs and friends from all walks of life for their support and assistance to the enterprise; expressed his gratitude to all participants of the achievement project and wished the customer BMW friends and the operation team a smooth work and happy life in the park.
On behalf of Tiexi District Committee, District Government and Zhongde Park Management Committee of Economic Development Zone, Mayor Guo Zhongxiao expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the opening of the project. He said in his speech that the project of Runbang Damei Automotive Manufacturing Supply Chain Industrial Park is the first SKD consolidation center built by BMW Overseas Supply Chain Group in China, which will provide complete production service guarantee for BMW, and will strongly enhance the supporting capacity of auto parts in Tiexi District and even Shenyang City and boost the growth of regional economy. This project chooses to invest and settle in the Economic Development Zone and Sino-German Park,
which is a full trust and affirmation of the business environment of the park. The government will continue to provide comprehensive and efficient services for the enterprise. He firmly believes that with the joint efforts of both government and enterprises, the project will achieve greater success and make greater contribution to the regional economic development.
He mentioned that the official operation of the project would boost the output of BMW body and BMW supporting auto parts enterprises in Shenyang, increase the export value and further deepen the close cooperation between China and Germany. During the construction period, the project was affected by unfavorable factors such as the new crown epidemic, but the enterprise responded positively to the call of the government at all levels, overcame difficulties, resumed work in an orderly manner, accelerated the construction progress and finally delivered the operation on schedule, which fully reflected the good business environment of Sino-German Park and also showed the integrity and international cooperation spirit of a private
enterprise.
The delivery of the BMW China SKD Transportation Center project is the crystallization of the wisdom and hard work of all participants in the project. Looking back at this moment, we feel a lot of emotions. The warm story written by the RBDM people with their hearts, feelings and efforts has been deeply imprinted on this hot land of Zhongde Park; looking forward to the future and working together for a win-win situation, RBDM will continue to interpret the corporate vision of "trustworthy and
mission-critical" with practical actions and work together with BMW Group to help Zhongde Park and the economy of Tiexi
District achieve high-quality development.
